Start Tressyl when you log in
Use this guide to have Tressyl open by itself each time you log in to this computer, so your folders stay in sync without you starting it. It is off until you turn it on, and it applies to your own account only: other people using this computer are not affected.
Before you start
- This device is set up (see Set up your first device or Add a device).
Turn it on
- Open Tressyl and click the Settings tab.
- Tick Start Tressyl when I log in.
Tressyl now opens its window each time you log in. Your system lists it too, as Tressyl: on Linux in your desktop’s “Startup Applications” (or “Autostart”) settings, on Windows in Settings → Apps → Startup and in Task Manager’s Startup apps tab.
Turn it off
- Open Tressyl and click the Settings tab.
- Untick Start Tressyl when I log in.
If you switched Tressyl off in your system’s startup settings instead, the box shows as unticked too; ticking it again turns it back on.
On Windows, uninstalling Tressyl also removes this setting.
If something goes wrong
If Tressyl says This setting could not be changed, look up the error code in the error reference.
